TermoProfi products - an elementary component of energy-efficient windows

The Passive House is an innovative building solution that not only provides high energy efficiency and thermal comfort, but also generates operational savings and reduces the consumption of non-renewable energy sources. This technology is setting new directions for construction in many developed countries around the world.
Due to the ever-increasing costs of maintaining a comfortable temperature inside a building, more and more builders are becoming convinced to build passive and zero-energy houses (nZEB). Thanks to the high thermal insulation of the roof, walls, windows and floors, energy losses are reduced to a minimum.

In order for windows and façades to achieve the standards set for passive buildings, it is necessary to use modern window frame profiles and high-performance insulating glass units. The use of low-emission glass with an appropriately selected energy selectivity coefficient, maintaining an appropriate distance between panes and filling the space between panes with noble gas significantly improves the thermal insulation of the window, but the edges of the glass panes are still the element which connects extreme (internal and external) temperature environments. Very often, it is in this section that so-called thermal bridges occur and increased energy flows from the warm glass towards the cold glass, resulting in energy loss and condensation on the glass surface. This problem is exacerbated by the presence of metal glazing bars, which reduce the distance between the two panes of glass required to minimise losses. An opportunity to solve this common problem has arisen with the introduction of the TermoProfi brand warm frame, which in combination with a new product of a Polish manufacturer - Vienna muntin bars - creates a structure with optimal thermal insulation parameters.

Warm frames TermoProfi

The TermoProfi brand's flagship product is the latest generation of double glazing spacers, which are available in three versions: Standard, Standard+ and Optimal. The warm frames establish the correct distance between the glass panes in an insulating glass unit. On the edges of the glass, they perform a thermal insulation function and reduce heat loss through the window by up to several per cent.
Windows fitted with TermoProfi spacers improve their thermal properties, thereby contributing to a reduction of approximately 10% in energy consumption costs. Thanks to the use of a composite material and glass fibre, enriched with a layer of barrier coating, the content of the noble gas filling the space between the panes remains hermetically sealed throughout the life of the window, which consequently guarantees the declared thermal insulation and reduces the risk of condensation on the panes by up to 70%. In addition, TermoProfi is one of the few warm frames on the market with a height of 7 mm. The higher side walls provide more surface area for the distribution of the primary seal, which significantly increases the airtightness of the insulating glass unit. The technology used minimises the risk of butyl leaking beyond the edge of the frame, giving users a guarantee of the airtightness of the glass and the aesthetic appearance of the entire glazing unit. In this way, the double-glazed unit continuously performs its thermal insulation function and ensures the long-term energy efficiency of a passive building.

Vienna muntin bars TermoProfi

Vienna muntin bars of the TermoProfi brand are also made from the same highly insulating material as spacers. Compared to aluminium muntin bars, they significantly reduce the formation of thermal bridges in the double glazing unit. As a result, energy-efficient windows with Vienna muntin bars achieve impressive energy efficiency.
As a result, customers can not only reduce their energy consumption costs, but also increase the comfort of the building, as the temperature at the window is kept at an optimum level in winter.
Thanks to the use of Vienna muntin bars TermoProfi, the heat loss through the window is reduced as much as possible - in contrast to metal muntin bars, which have a significant negative effect on the insulating properties of the window. In addition, Vienna muntin bars TermoProfi are machinable and can be adapted to different window sizes. In combination with a warm spacer, they emphasise the exclusive appearance of the window and at the same time provide an innovative solution for improving the energy efficiency of buildings. Nowadays, a window's low Uw coefficient owes a lot to small, inconspicuous window design elements such as the warm spacer or warm stiles. It turns out that TermoProfi brand products are becoming increasingly popular, as energy-efficient windows are increasingly being chosen not only for passive houses, but also by people who want to take care of their living comfort.
